OnRamps

OnRamps is a dual-enrollment program offered by the University of Texas at Austin (UT). Students across Texas have the opportunity to take rigorous college-level courses for which they can earn college credit. OnRamps offers year-long courses that were designed by UT professors and that are aligned with the content in entry-level UT courses.

  • OnRamps offers 15 courses in multiple disciplines, including science, mathematics, technology, and the humanities.

  • Credit earned for OnRamps courses can transfer to all public colleges and universities in Texas.

  • Students take the courses at participating high schools. They may earn both high school credit and college credit from UT Austin.

  • Students have two teachers for each course: the high school teacher and a UT faculty member. The high school teacher delivers the OnRamps curriculum, grades high school assignments, and determines the grade in the high school course. The UT instructor grades UT assessments and assigns the grade for the college course. Students may decline the college credit if they are not satisfied with their performance in the college course.

  • Students do not need to meet TSI standards to enroll in an OnRamps course. UT provides teachers with professional development opportunities to support their delivery of rigorous content in distance and hybrid learning environments.
