  • Beginning September 1, 2021, students who enlist in the Texas National Guard (HB 1147, 87th Legislature) will qualify as military ready.

  • As of Fall 2020, TEA will not use PEIMS military enlistment data for the purposes of A-F accountability or HB3 CCMR Outcomes Bonuses. They will only use data supplied directly from the U.S. Department of Defense.

Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB)

  • Texas Education Code §29.9015 (Texas Senate Bill 1843) requires each school district to provide students in grades 10 through 12 with an opportunity to take the ASVAB test--or qualify for an exception-- and consult with a military recruiter.
